Bible Studies - Learn & Serve
Once Social Distancing and quarantine stipulations have been lifted, we will offer a variety of opportunities for a Bible Study and Children services to meet the needs of our community. This includes traditional Sunday School for the children, adult Bible Studies, a bi-weekly Bible Study and monthly Community Meal Bible Study.
Also, depending on the season, we have numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the year. If you are looking for a place to serve and help others, let us know. God can use you at Bethany.
Our Mission
We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
Our History: 250 Years
Bethany Baptist Church is one of Virginia’s many historic churches. Our church was established in the midst of persecution and uncertainty on the beliefs of God first, country second, self last .
Bethany celebrates its 250th anniversary in September 2020 and we continue to hold on to the truths established by our country's forefathers, living by the faith, love and mercy as modeled by our Savior, Jesus Christ. With a long, amazing heritage, our sanctuary offers a historical setting for our traditional worship services as well as for many sacred celebrations, including Communion, baptisms, and weddings.
Worship Services
At the present time, due to the Coronavirus, regulations set forth by the governor and president, Bethany’s traditional worship services are cancelled. When we are able to meet with our traditional worship, it will be held in the church sanctuary on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am. Until then, we are presently holding a Drive In Service on Sunday mornings starting at 10:30. Please read more on our Upcoming Events Page.
Please be assured that we are here for you. If you would like someone to talk to, we are happy to make ourselves available by telephone, Skype, FaceTime, etc. If you email or leave a message on the office phone, we will arrange a time to have a conversation with you. You may also message us through our contact page.
Additional services will be announced on our notice board at the church, our Facebook page, and here on our website.
In addition, we are working at making the messages of our services available on line as audio files for anyone to listen to.
