Rev. Dr. Susan McBride has served as the interim pastor of Bethany Baptist Church since 2016.  She loves helping people discover the hope and meaning that God has for our shared life together.  Susan is an innovative pastor helping Bethany navigate toward the future.

 

Susan also serves as the Team Coordinator for the Baptist General Association of Virginia’s Congregational Field Staff. She has been employed by the Baptist General Association of Virginia since January 1982, having served in a variety of positions: Congregational Field Staff Coordinator (2015-present); Emerging Leaders Team Leader (2003-2015); Mission Resource consultant (1997-2002); Baptist Collegiate Minister, Mary Washington College (1982-1996).  Her career has centered on intergenerational leadership development.

 

A 1972 graduate of Danville High School (Danville, Indiana), Susan graduated from Indiana-Purdue University in Indianapolis in 1978 with a degree in English and Communications.  She graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville in 1981 with a Master of Divinity and again in 1990 with a Doctor of Ministry.

 

In her spare time, Susan can be found at the beach - soaking up the sun while reading a great book.  She loves reading the Bible, Spiritual Development, and American History.

She also loves spending time with friends!  “Road trips” add adventure to her life.
